Dr. John Paulson:

Dr. Paulson graduated from Oregon State University in 1991.  He practiced in Cottage Grove, OR and Redmond, WA before coming to Silverdale in 1996.  His veterinary interest lies in Orthopedic and Soft Tissue Surgery.

Dr. Paulson is certified for orthopedic bone plating and Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteomtomy (TPLO) Surgery. 

His personal interests include golfing, backpacking, and spending time with his wife Lisa, and two children Josie and Isaac.  His personal motto is "To live life more like a marathon than a sprint -- and add plenty of rest stops along the way."

Dr. Kassandra Kondas 


Dr. Kassandra Kondas joined the Ridgetop team in July of 2016. Originally from Canada, she received her veterinary degree from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland before moving to Washington. 

Her veterinary interests include internal medicine and dermatology. In her spare time she enjoys trail running, horseback riding and hiking. She currently owns a horse and enjoys fostering; she can't wait to open up her home to her next fur-baby!

  Dr. Jake Fulcher

Jake, originally from Heyburn, Idaho, moved to Washington in 2013 to start veterinary school at Washington State University. He graduated four years later in 2017 and moved to the Kitsap Peninsula to join the Ridgetop Animal Hospital team. His veterinary interests include orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, veterinary business management, and behavior.

In his free time, Jake enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest, kayaking, camping, and spending time with family. Jake received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Music degrees in vocal performance, and enjoys singing in choral ensembles and participating in the musical community around the Puget Sound. He also enjoys spending time at home or on the trails with his two dogs, Indy and Ginny.

Dr. Ben Alfrejd

Dr. Alfrejd grew up in Redmond, Washington and graduated from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. He headed a practice for a year in Aberdeen, Washington before shifting to the Silverdale city life. He has an interest in animal behavior training, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.   

During his spare time, Dr. Alfrejd focuses on physical fitness and being a nerd. He has a great love for all things Sci-fi and is an active member of the 501st and Saberguild Star Wars Costuming groups, which help raise money for charities such as Children’s Hospital.

 Dr. Kristen Shearer (Relief Veterinarian):

Dr. Shearer grew up in West Seattle and went to undergrad at Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA. She graduated in 2004 with a BA in French language literature. She then went to vet school at WSU's College of Veterinary Medicine in Pullman, WA.

Her special veterinary interests include dentistry, internal medicine, and exotics. She lives with her husband and two rambunctious cats, Ethel and Murray.

She is an avid backpacker, sea kayaker, and skier. Currently she is employed full time across the water in Seattle but she enjoyed Ridgetop so much she comes back to visit and see her clients once a month.
